Tattoo Aftercare Intructions
Remove the plastic dressing after 3 hours, and gently wash with lukewarm soapy water. Pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel. Showers may be taken the same day but avoid using excessively hot water. Do not scrub the tattoo. No baths, hot saunas, swimming pools, ocean, or tanning until the tattoo has healed (one month). Some ink may come out of the tattoo, that is normal and part of the healing process. Gently wash away or pat excess ink down with a paper towel. Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor once a day for 2 weeks. Tattoo may become itchy, flakey, dry, or scab as it heals, do not scratch or pick at the healing tattoo. If you notice signs of infection, contact your doctor right away.
Signs of infection: redness and swelling after 24 hours, pus, foul smell from the tattoo area, red streaks on skin near tattoo area, fever, nausea, shivering.
